NeLH Guidelines Finder evaluation

CIRT has been appointed to undertake an evaluation of the National Electronic Library for Health Guidelines Finder Service. The Guidelines Finder is a database of UK approved evidence-based clinical guidelines available on the Internet in full-text. CIRT is examining usage and awareness of the service and exploring its impact on clinical practice.

The Guidelines Finder Service can be found at: http://rms.nelh.nhs.uk/guidelinesfinder/

The aims of the evaluation are

  • To measure the effectiveness of the NeLH Guidelines Finder service against its stipulated objectives
  • To obtain comprehensive data from a cross section of both users and non-users of the service, relating to the usefulness and value of the service and its impact on clinical governance and effectiveness
  • To produce recommendations, grounded in the data collected from users and non-users, to facilitate greater take-up and awareness of the service. The evaluation will result in a written report containing the findings of all aspects of the evaluation, conclusions from these findings and recommendations for the Guidelines Finder service on:
  • how the service could be improved for users· how the service could be promoted to ensure greater usage across the UK health sector.
