Evaluation of UCEEL

UCEEL (University of Central England Electronic Library) was launched in March 2001 as the University's own digital library. Utilising the FORMTEK:ORION system, marketed in the UK by LSC Group, UCE is unique in that it is one of the first universities in the UK to implement an 'off the shelf' solution of this kind. The University of Central England (UCE) has received over £1million of HEFCE capital funding over the next two years to develop a digital library, which will be managed by the Library Service at the University.

UCEEL will provide support for distance learning and improved electronic access to copyright cleared resources, special collections and high demand information. Opportunities for future collaboration will be explored.
